In the game Sonic Superstars, which will be released this fall, two villains from the Sonic the Hedgehog series will appear: Dr. Eggman and Fang. However, a new character named Trip will appear in the game. At the moment, the details about this character are minimal, but the trip is based on the actually existing lizard Sungazer, which in Japan is known as "Armored lizard".

This name served as the basis for the design of a trip, which looks like it was wearing a complete armor. In an interview with Game Informer, the Sonic Team Boss Takashi Iizuka said that at his first acquaintance, the triple would not seem a direct threat.

"The team wanted to show that TRIP is not an ordinary enemy, and we wanted to present it not in the form of obvious "Oh, I’m superc", – Jezuk said in an interview with Game Informer. "When we presented a trip at the very beginning, I think that she even falls on the face in the very first scene in which you see her. The first thing, I think, people think: "Who is she and why she is a super -lord enemy? What’s happening? We wanted to introduce the character in such a way that he was different from how the enemies always represent in Sonic games".

TRIP was created jointly by Jezuka and Naoto Ossem. Osima is one of the creators of Sonic, he developed the design of both the character himself and Dr. Eggman. Apparently, the trip will play a key role in the Sonic Superstars narrative, although players should not expect a voicing similar to what was in games such as Sonic Frontiers. Instead, the plot will develop as it happens in classic 2D games, such as Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

We also adhere to the classical format of the narrative, so we will not use the orders of voice, we will not lead long monologues about that and about Semr. We really wanted to present it in such a way that it corresponds to the classical manner of the narrative: just show the character’s actions, but at the same time remain a cool hero with all these interesting features. We think that when people like to watch the trip and watch how it passes the plot as an enemy, they will truly appreciate it as one of the enemies.
